Canada – Vancouver to Gibsons via Victoria

Now I get why when people say they’re from British Columbia, they say it like they just dropped a mic. Calming and breathtakingly beautiful vistas abound in this part of Canada! Sooke Potholes Provincial Park was one of the highlights. We stopped for some jumps into beautiful, welcoming and clear water that takes your breath away it’s so cold when you jump in! The 47km Juan de Fuca Marine Trail is a must-go-back-for. We only went up to Port Renfrew in Vancouver Island, but that was the picture-perfect ending I was waiting for. We will have to go back to stay there one day and hopefully make it to Tofino, which everybody raves about.

The Sunshine Coast also has a lot to offer and Gibsons- our accidental Airbnb booking- was packed with activities, great people, and good food. We kayaked to Keats Island with the two dogs (a first) and hiked through towering trees that gifted us with an early Christmas tree scent. Naturally, we left the camera in the kayak for this hike- grr! Major stops included Vancouver, Victoria, Powell River and Gibsons.
